Thank the Gods that Christmas is
finally gone
With all its lower grade décor
and cheesy songs
Away with the fake smiles and forced
happy wishes
And no more of the relatives with their
sloppy wet kisses
Gone are the multitudes of camp foreign
kin
With their sunburn blisters and flabby
white skin
No more awful floral shirts and day-glo
running shorts
And spoilt giggly pre-pubescents with
attached consorts
No more traffic jams in the middle of
the day
The lazy asshole in the -GP merc being
the cause of delay
Free of clogging are our streets,
beaches, cinema's and malls
Those evil smiling tourists safely
packed behind their own walls
We have our pool tables back free of
beer vomit
The road death toll has returned to its
normal bit
And receeding is the nightmare fear of
blue-lit roadblocks
And nasty brutal breathalysing
Afrikaans traffic cops.
Yes, all in all it's a good time to
celebrate now
All is right again with the world
somehow
Thanks the Gods it's finally gone again
And in peace we can watch the new year
wane.
And for all those tourist types that
visit us each year
We feel you need some good advice so
we'll make it very clear
When the year is approaching its end
and you feel the need to roam
Resist the urge, sit down, save your
money and STAY HOME!!!
